Job Description
The successful candidate will execute and deliver synthetic chemistry projects on behalf of ABCL and its partners. This includes preparation, purification and characterization of all materials and deliverables. The candidate will perform analytical work, write comprehensive reports, general laboratory upkeep, plan their activities efficiently, purchase chemicals and equipment as needed, and maintain a safe and pleasant working environment.
Qualifications
Ph.D. Degree in Organic Chemistry.
with 1-2 years of industrial experience or
Master’s degree with a minimum of 6-8 years
of relevant experience.

Job Duties

Synthesize target compounds utilizing a
blend of both classical and modern
technology effectively.

Modify reaction conditions in accord
with visual observations to allow rapid,
successful production of target
compounds.

Provide technical solutions to a wide
range of difficult problems.

Use a broad spectrum of practical
laboratory skills as needed; including
advanced methods of purification of
solvents and reagents, running reactions
under anhydrous and oxygen free
conditions, and using advanced methods
for isolation/purification of sensitive
materials.

Plans work to meet personal project
objectives and deadlines; assesses needs
and makes changes in process, work flow
and/or assignments. Coordinates
multiple, concurrent assignments on a
multi-faceted research project.
Internship
Job Description
The intern will work under supervision to assist in synthetic chemistry projects, utilize analytical techniques, general organic synthesis of target compounds, and will assist in shipping and laboratory upkeep.
Qualifications
BS or pursuing a BS with some prior research experience in organic chemistry or other chemistry related field.

Job Duties

Purification and isolation of organic molecules, including flash chromatography and Combiflash.

Perform upkeep and logging of instrumentation.

Modify reaction conditions in accord with visual observations to allow rapid, successful production of target compounds.

Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Provide accurate and contemporaneous notebook recording.

Assist with the packing, shipping, and labeling of general shipments.

Master’s degree in organic chemistry with 1-10 years of industry experience. Experience working in a CRO is a plus.
